New SCA Dress

Made this today out of flannel so I won't freeze this weekend. I also got out my sewing machine with the fancy stitches and added lace trim and stitches to the sleeves, bottom hem and neckline.

Hubby says I'm really getting good at making these.

Design Wall Monday

I can't really show you what's on my Design Wall because it's a Christmnas Quilt Challenge at Quilts Your Way. But, I did get everything cut out and ready to sew this week. This is more Traditional then what I've been making lately, but I'm getting kind of tired of Fiber Arts and Applique so I figured I'd make this little quilt for the challenge. Then I will have a Wall Hanging for Christmas and I'm going to enter it in the Fair in April if it turns out okay.
so this is what I will be sewing on this week.

My Stash

Judy at Patchwork Times is doing a show us your Stash She is talking about doing the following with her stash :
" Here’s my plan:
Take a picture of my stash today. Posted below. I’m also going to print it and tape it up where I have to see it every day.
Between now and January 1, 2010, I’m going to clean it and organize it. Post it here. Then I’m going to print it and tape it below the disorganized stash picture.
All through 2010 I’m going to use work hard (really hard) to use the stash and at the end of 2010, I’m going to post another picture (and post it here) and then compare the three.
Want to join me?"
Since my stash is really messed up right now I thought what the hey I will join in on this.
So here is my stash, now my stash is in different places around the house so I have a couple of pictures to show.
I'm hoping that some time soon DD will come get her stuff from her room so I can put all my stash in there.

Here are the pictures of what my stash looks like today.

The above picture is some Hand-dyed Flanell that I got.

This is the little bag of goodies they gave us on the bus to the quilt show. there was a pin cushion and a little Cell Phone bag to hang around your neck and some other stuff.
That's it, I get my quilts back next week. So until next year.

My Ulgy Fabric Swap

This is what I got tonight. I didn't know it was coming by UPS, I thought it was coming by the post office so I didn't see the package out by the gate and we have 2 gates so I missed it til Ruth told me that UPS had deliver it. So out I went with a Flash light to find it and I found the box right by the gate. I'm so glad it didn't rain. The Fabric below is my Ulgy Fabric that I sent her.

This is a picture of it sitting on my sewing table.

The best part is that the Egg fits behind the Chicken and yes those are real feathers.
Thank you so much Ruth.

This one is so pretty I wish the picture had turned out better, it's all done in asian fabrics.

And this little quilt is all made in wool, all of it is machine stitched. I really love it's colors.

Happy Mabon/Autumn Equinox

Happy Mabon!
in Agrarian times, the solar event know as Mabon was regared as a harvest festival to prepare the second round of crops for the looming winter months--a time to complete the harvest that began at Lammas. In terns of the cycle of day and night, Mabon represents sunset, as the Sun retreats and night begins to dominate. Accordingly, contemporary Witches decorate their altars with autumn leaves, pine cones, and acorns along with nuts and dried fruits as offerings to the goddess. As a time of balance, make time for introspection. Reflect on your deeds and celebrate your achievements as the proverbial "fruits of your labor". Think about initiating closure on issues or tasks that are taking a long time to complete, or removing things that no longer serve a purpose.
Traditionally, Mabon is a time to ease the transition from warmth and abundance to harshness of winter. Whilst the weather is still mild, wash and air your warmer bedding to prepare for ultimate comfort in the weeks ahead. Do the same for your favorite coats and sweaters. You will feel totally organized and ready for the cooler, yet cozy, part of the year!

Have a Blessed Day!
